Welcome to the Barnett Health Office Webpage
Good Health is critical for the learning process to take place. It is for this reason that students who are too ill to participate in normal activities should be excluded from school attendance. Not only are they unable to derive any benefits from the educational process when ill, but they may also be infecting other children and thus preventing them from attending school.
Please read the attached link “Criteria For School Attendance” for guidance on when to keep your child at home or to send them to school.
Barnett Elementary and Ramona Unified School District have very specific policies on medication that is given during the school day. Please read the link for the “District Medication Policy for Long Term Medication” (longer than 3 days) or the “District Medication Policy for Short term Medication” (for a maximum of 3 school days). Any Long Term Medication forms need to be filled out and signed by your child’s/children’s doctor.
If you child needs to take medication at school please follow the links to print off the appropriate form. Please visit the Short Term Medication form link for any medication (over the counter or prescription) for up to 3 days or the Long Term Medication link for any medication that will be needed for longer than 3 days.
